PHOTO 1
This photo was taken in my boyfriends back yard, they have a wood stove so they keep wood stacked outside ready for use. the logs being stacked the way they are creates a sense of repetition , and a dark focal point. there is contrast throughout the photo but where its most noticeable is in the middle of the stacks.i think its a pretty cool picture because how many people see a pile of wood and think hey that's a cool thing to take a picture of. plus it was a okay photo for natural lighting.
PHOTO 2
this photo was also taken in my boyfriends backyard, this photo was taken for line and shape and you can see both of those things along the fence. with the natural lighting and the non major focal point your eyes are free yet follow the lines in any way you would want to. i think the main reason i took this photo is because it was outside, and im and outdoorsy person which made it so natural for me to just snap the photo, something so simple became on of my favorite photos.
PHOTO 3
this photo was taken in the schools court yard, the lines of the stems lead you through the back of the photo but the shapes of the flowers are open and in your face. to be honest my favorite part are the little bugs crawling there way through the maze of flowers. this photo has a shallow depth of field the front is in focus and the background is blurry . it was also taken with an average shutter speed, i also love this photo in black and white.
PHOTO 4
painting with light! almost everyone favorite thing to do or at least one of my favorite. this photo follows the rule of 3rds, and has a lot of negative space. the shutter speed used here was very slow in order to catch the light streaks. obviously there is contrast from the bright light and dark room. movement and gliding through something and rising up is what this photo means to me.
PHOTO 5
portraits, my point of view was from the left and in a way follows the rule of 3rds due to the fact hes not centered in the photo. the lighting came from the top right. i used a relatively average shutter speed. i feel like this picture could be a mystery due to the fact hes looking off into the distance and who knows what he could be thinking, its all in the way you look at it.
PHOTO 6
faye! the lighting was from the top right, the best part is you can see the steams of light this photo also follows the rule of third. there is a good amount of negative space . her light skin and dark background creates a sense of contrast. this photo was kinda unexpected due to the fact she went to adjust the light then i had told her to stay like that and this is what we ended up with.
